How we began

​Surface Testing Group Inc. began in 2011. It all started with new generation construction materials, such as polymer- based flooring products and coatings. With these new materials came the need for water vapor measurement in concrete. From then on, we continue to grow into other areas of expertise and bridge the gaps that we see in our industry today.  We strive to become the best at what we do. 

​ Since our inception, STGI has become the leading moisture measurement agency in the Midwest with projects extending over the nation. Our philosophy of Honesty, Integrity, and Trust has become the staple of our business success and the driver of our daily routine.

Meet the team

Steve Anderson
President, CEO

STGI was founded by owner Steve Anderson. Steve has over 40 years' experience in the floor covering industry. His experience working with floor covering adhesives, surface preparation products, and commercial resilient floor coverings has given him the opportunity to recognize some of the industries issues regarding moisture in concrete slabs. Steve holds a Certification from the International Concrete Repair Institute for Concrete Moisture Testing. Steve also serves on the ASTM F-06 Committee and is involved in the education of our clients.  

Graham Anderson
Field Technician, Consultant

Graham Anderson is also an ICRI Certified Field Technician with extensive knowledge in concrete moisture testing.  He came to work at STGI full time in 2017, but also has prior experience with commercial contractors and builders. Graham continues education and experience on the latest and most comprehensive methods of interior measurements. Graham serves as a consultant to our clients, and an educator to the industry.
